Palantir was founded in 2003 and started building software for use by the intelligence community in the United States to assist in counterterrorism investigations and operations, as well as by commercial enterprises. Its software is trusted by some of the most important public and private sector organisations to help solve mission-critical challenges, including the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme. Palantir has also worked extensively with major energy and utility companies on complex issues ranging from improving grid security and resilience to decarbonising operations.
