Tom Rand is the Managing Partner at ArcTern Ventures, where he focuses on carbon mitigation, cleantech venture capital, technology incubation and public advocacy.

Tom started out as a software developer in his teens. He went on to found Voice Courier Inc. (VCi), which served the interactive voice response market and grew to more than 100 staff across three countries before it was sold in 2005. He also co-developed Planet Traveler, a low-carbon hotel in downtown Toronto.

Tom is an Action Canada Fellow and the author of three books. He holds degrees from the University of Waterloo, the University of London and the University of Toronto.
