Steven has over 10 years experience across two leading DNOs and a diverse number of roles. These roles encompassed system planning, where he designed 33kV generator connections, maintained the impedance model with associated data exchange with third party organisations, and helping calculate DUoS charges. After this Steve moved to the Innovation Team managing a range of business as usual initiatives, NIA projects and NIC bids ranging from ANM deployment, several reactive power based projects, a bid focusing on hydrogen electrolysis deployment and a range of community energy projects and initiatives. After a decade with Western Power Distribution, Steven moved to SSEN to fulfil the role of the DSO Technical Authority, taking responsibility for the technical elements of the DSO transition, particularly the required ICT and OT infrastructure and electrical resilience of the network. He is also heavily involved in industry wide initiatives such as Open Networks.
