Sonia joined UK Power Reserve in April 2016 as New Technologies Development Manager to grow and diversify the company. She led the development of the battery storage business model, and UKPR won 120MW of battery storage contracts in 2016n – one of the largest portfolios in Europe. Sonia focuses on opening up new markets for UKPR in her current role as Senior Expansion Manager.

Prior to joining UKPR, she worked for General Electric within its Nuclear, Aviation and GE Power businesses. She held leadership and engineering positions in GE Power as the head of Latin America CSE engineering team with global responsibility.  Sonia was managing the regional and customer fleets in every region around the world for the Aeroderivative engines business.

Sonia holds an M.B.A. from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering from National Polytechnic institute UPIITA-IPN.
