Sally was Mott MacDonald’s Global Practice Leader for Water Resources until the end of 2019; she is now leading on Professional and Technical Excellence and Digital activity for the Water and Environment Unit in Mott MacDonald’s UK and Europe business.
As Global Practice Leader she provided leadership and championed technical excellence to the Mott MacDonald Water Resources Practice across all of Mott MacDonald’s Regions. The Practice brings together over 200 professionals covering aspects of water resources from strategic planning, operational supply and catchment management.
Her recent role move takes her into leading people to be digital by default; normalising the use of a wide range of digital tools and approaches to add value and increase efficiency in the delivery of solutions. In addition she is also tracking emerging technologies and bringing innovative digital solutions to clients. This needs a pragmatic approach to balance the day-to-day needs of project delivery while ensuring we adapt and thrive in a landscape of constant digital change.
The Professional and Technical Excellence element of her role brings a focus on drawing together the wide range of technical specialists at Mott MacDonald to collaborate and provide integrated solutions to the problems faced by society.
Sally has a particular interest in stakeholder engagement and facilitation and led the input to Anglian Water’s Water Resources East project on behalf of Mott MacDonald. Water Resources East is a multi-sector collaborative, regional strategic planning project aiming to provide secure and resilient supplies for all sectors in the east of the UK. It was the first regional planning approach in the UK to bring together stakeholders representing all sectors to work together to find a solution to the challenge posed by climate change and population growth.
