Rob Salter-Church is a Partner in the Consumers & Competition Division. He leads Ofgem’s work on the roll-out of smart meters and regulation of the Data and Communications Company and has oversight of the licensing and regulatory framework for the sector. He is also the sponsor for faster, reliable switching programme. Rob joined Ofgem in November 2013, having worked in a number of departments in central Government for more than a decade, advising various Cabinet Ministers and the Head of the Civil Service on a range of policy areas, but with a particular focus on energy. Rob has worked as an economic advisor in HM Treasury leading on energy market issues, as well as the Department of Energy and Climate Change, covering a range of issues including retail markets, smart metering, incentivisation of investments in low carbon generation and electricity market reform.
