Rachel joined Ofgem 2 years ago from DCMS as Programme Director for the Faster and More Reliable Switching Programme.  The Programme will harmonise gas and electricity switching processes and introduce next day switching, though the introduction of a new switching platform that can support innovation and change.  In addition to the Switching Programme Rachel is also Ofgem’s independent supplier champion and has is leading proposals to introduce automatic compensation for consumers when switches go wrong.

Prior to joining Ofgem Rachel had a varied career in central government including delivery of projects such as digital TV switchover and spectrum clearance, and development of regulatory frameworks covering communications networks, unlawful copyright infringement and postal services.
