Philippa joined BEIS earlier this year and works on Smart Energy. The Government is working closely with Ofgem and industry to support the transition to a smarter, more flexible energy system. To support this transition the Government and Ofgem jointly published the Smart Systems and Flexibility Plan. This plan outlines the underlying principles of our approach to enable the transition to a smart and flexible system, followed by 29 actions for the Government, Ofgem and/or industry to lead on to realise this. Philippa’s role covers oversight of delivery of the Plan, developing future strategy and leading on smart energy innovation work.

Prior to joining BEIS, Philippa spend 6 years at Ofgem working on national energy efficiency and fuel poverty policy.
