Philip Sellwood has been the Chief Executive of the Energy Saving Trust since 2003, leading the organisation to deliver on its mission to help everyone save energy every day. Philip has substantial experience in both the public and private sector, and is an active member of a number of influential Boards. He is Vice Chair of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership Board, a Non-Executive Director of REAL (Renewable Energy Assurance Limited) Board and a Non-Executive Director at the Local Government Improvement and Innovation Board. In addition, Philip is an Advisory member of UKERC (UK Energy Research Centre) and NHBC (National House Building Council). Philip is also a Founder Trustee of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, which aims to build a positive circular economy.
During the last 15 years, Philip has undertaken work with DTI/Defra, for an educational charity and as Ministerial Advisor at the Home Office, and sat as an Independent Commissioner on the LGA Climate Change Commission.
Philip is a Member of the Institute of Energy, a Fellow of the British Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
