Phil leads the real time operation of the GB gas and electricity transmission systems, providing a secure and economic service to our customers. This includes the associated commercial activities, providing non-discriminatory access to the systems, as well as the strategic design and capability of the gas and electricity networks.

He is Vice-Chairman of CORESO, an organisation of several European Transmission System Operators working together to ensure and improve the reliability of Europe’s electricity supply.
