Paul is Anglian Water’s Director of Water Services. He joined the business in 1990 with an Honours Degree in Geography with a specialisation in Environmental Impact Assessment. Having worked in operational areas for his entire career, Paul has been at the sharp end of both water and water recycling processes and has risen through the ranks in various leadership roles.
Paul has the responsibility of over 1200 people who supply clean safe water to more than five million customers in the Anglian region. From source to tap – abstraction, treatment and distribution to customer properties, this involves 138 water treatment works, over 400 reservoirs and towers and 38,000 kilometres of pipework.
As well as accountability for water quality, Paul is responsible for interruptions to supply and leakage targets for Anglian Water. And so is implementing  an approach to develop fully optimised water networks to  ensure the  company can achieve a level of leakage reduction never seen before in the water industry in the UK.  The benefit of such an approach has played out in recent  months where Anglian water has managed to cope well with the challenges our climate has recently given us.
Paul is a big advocate of Water Aid and is a former Chairman of the Anglian Water WaterAid committee.
