Neil has a broad experience in the fleet industry, from Procurement and manufacturer liaison right up to the start of 2020 when he was able to combine his experience across vehicles and their operations with a passion for sustainability into his current role as National EV Manager with SSE plc. The company has committed to transition over 3,500 vehicles to alternative fuels by 2030 through its membership of EV100 and Neil’s role plays a key part of this transition for both company car and the operational fleet of LCV and HGV’s.  Having driven pure EV’s for the last few years, this experience enables Neil to understand that mindset is the biggest barrier to change and has worked hard at SSE to help employees breakdown those barriers for themselves, thereby helping them transition to pure EV easier and with less anxiety. Recent successes in launching a revised company car scheme is already delivering significant cost and emission reduction benefits to the drivers and the business.
