Jonathan took up the role of the Senior Partner at Ofgem in May 2016. He leads Ofgem’s important work regulating the monopoly energy networks. As well as regulation of price controls for the distribution and transmission networks for gas and electricity (RIIO), his division is responsible for Ofgem’s interconnector and offshore transmission regimes. He has a wealth of energy sector experience, having led the Department of Energy and Climate’s electricity market reforms as the Director for Energy Markets and Networks.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics from Glasgow University and a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Cambridge.
