After finishing his PhD in physics at the TU Munich, Gero Bieser joined the SAP Industry Business Unit Utilities in 1997. Since then he worked on a wide range of subjects – from Enterprise Asset Management to Customer Relationship Management and Smart Meters – and has been involved in numerous consulting projects in the global utility industry. In addition, he developed standard SAP implementation tools, led software development projects and collaborated with SAP Research on Smart Grid topics. Currently he focuses on how to leverage the latest SAP technology to support the energy transition with Intelligent Asset Management for electricity, gas and water networks.
