Fabio Giammanco

Head of Smart Grid Devices, Enel

Fabio has a significant experience in all areas of the electrical distribution business.
He is the head of Smart Grid Devices of Global Infrastructure and Networks – ENEL.
He’s main responsibility is the development for all the Enel Group networks of the Smart Grid
Devices (e.g. RTU’s, Storage, fault passage indicator, network sensors, smart components …),
fostering a strong process of technological convergence among 8 Countries.
Previously he was the head of Network Components Standardization of Global Infrastructure and
Networks, with the main responsibility of standardization and development of the components for
the Enel grids.

His experiences include many other managerial responsibilities in Italy and Spain in DSO field
that allowed him to develop a strong knowledge of distribution process and technologies.

Before joining Enel in 1991, he worked for IBM for two years.

He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Palermo, Italy.

He is President of CEI (Italian Electrotechnical Commission) Technical Committee 11 (overhead
lines) and member of many national and international working groups and committees (at CEI,
AENOR, CENELEC, EUROELECTRIC)
