Ellen Diskin is responsible for leading ESB Networks’ development of its business and investment plan for 2021-2025, and for securing its approval from the Irish energy regulator through the “PR5” process. As ESB Networks is the sole Irish electricity DSO, and owner of the Irish transmission and distribution systems, the outcome of this PR5 process will critically influence Ireland’s pathway to a low carbon energy system by 2030.
Over 10 years ago Ellen moved into the electricity industry from the telecoms sector. She brings experience leading cross sectional teams of technical and financial experts experience in Operations, R&D, Regulation and Network Investments. Other the past decade she has contributed to policy development in the international electricity industry, leading EU Task Forces and expert groups (European Commission, CIGRE, ENTSOE, eurelectric), speaking and authoring for the IEEE, IET, CIRED, CIGRE, EUW, and EPRI.
In 2015 Ellen was shortlisted for Irish Chartered Engineer of the Year. Holding a BEng Hons in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University, in 2019 Ellen was awarded diplomas in Business Finance, and in Strategy Development and Innovation, by the Michael Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin.
