Clive Book has worked in the gas industry since 1977 and in that time has held Senior roles within Operations, Distribution, Retail, Customers Service and Commercial.

Clive has been in his current role as Head of Emergency and Metering for Wales & West Utilities since its inception following the sale of four gas distribution networks by National Grid in 2005.

Wales & West Utilities is responsible for delivering gas to around 2.6 million users in Wales and the South West of England on behalf of gas suppliers. The role of operations is to manage and develop the gas pipeline network to provide customers with a safe and secure gas supply. To support this, Clive is responsible for the first call response to public reported gas escapes, leakage surveys as well as the delivery of Regulated and commercial downstream metering activities.

Clive is a member of the Gas Safe Unsafe Situations Panel, and a member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers.
