Christoph Frei is a Partner at Emerald Technology Ventures, where he leads the firm’s Global Energy Transformation Fund and Activities. He is also a Titular Professor at EPFL and on the board of Colibri Energy and INERATEC.

Before joining Emerald Ventures, Christoph served for ten years as CEO of the World Energy Council. Prior to that, he was Senior Director and a member of the Executive Council of the World Economic Forum, where he led the organization’s energy agenda. In 2012, he was appointed to the High-level Advisory Group on Sustainable Energy for All by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Christoph received his PhD (Dr. ès sc.) from EPFL. He holds a diploma in electrical engineering as well as master’s degrees in econometrics, energy economics and management, and applied ethics.
