Having spent all of his adult life in the gas industry, Andrew is an experienced gas engineer. Starting his career as an engineering apprentice, he worked as a Craftsperson and Engineer before holding a series of managerial positions with British Gas and its successors in the West Midlands and north west England. He returned to Wales in 2003 as Head of Operations for National Grid Gas Distribution in Wales and the south west of England, and became Director of Operations for Wales & West Utilities when we were set up in 2005. A Chartered engineer with an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, he now leads our Asset Management & HSE Directorate with responsibility for Process Safety, Asset Investment and System Operation.
