Alan Turner

Water Resources Manager, Kent County Council

Alan has 25 years’ experience covering a range of water management issues. He worked overseas as a land and water management consultant before joining Kent County Council in 2000 where he is now Water Resources Manager as part of the Council’s Flood and Water Management Team.

His work involves engaging with stakeholders, setting up and chairing partnerships, developing strategic programmes and delivering projects. He has developed programmes to address water resilience; planning and infrastructure provision to support housing growth; domestic water use efficiency; and sustainable water management for the Kent horticultural sector.

Alan works closely with the water industry and is part of several water company stakeholder panels.  He is local authority representative on the steering group for the WRSE Save Water Southeast Programme. He is a steering group member for the WSBF Water and Housing Inquiry and for a CIRIA study on Delivering Integrated Water Management through the Planning System.
