Tom has spent over 6 years working on the technical performance and roll out of domestic and I&C Smart Meters in the UK. This involves a strong focus on these assets maintaining smart performance- ensuring the reliability of smart meter data and consumer experience- and then utilising the connected smart meter system as an ecosystem for innovation. He has developed services such as Smart Meter Health-a unique service from SMS dedicated to helping energy suppliers optimise their smart meter portfolio- as well as overseeing Firmware Assurance Testing programmes for SMS, Energy Suppliers and Alt HAN Co. and market propositions that advance the smart meter system platform. Use cases include controlled and dedicated EV charging and heat pump tariffs, flexibility services and smart meter data propositions for both domestic consumers and businesses.
