Steve Fraser joined United Utilities in 2005 from Bethell Group the power and utilities service provider, where he was Operations Director. He was initially responsible for running United Utilities’ Energy and Contracting Services Company, a global utilities outsourcing and asset management business with a turnover of £750 million.
Steve, a member of the United Utilities Group Board, is currently the Chief Operating Officer responsible for the regulated water and wastewater business. This includes asset management, engineering, capital delivery, procurement and all network and process operations. Over the next five years United Utilities has an investment programme of £3.5billion to ensure the continued provision of excellent water and wastewater services to their seven million customers in the North West of England.
United Utilities has annual sales of £1.7 billion and over 5,200 employees.
A non-executive director of Tallinna Vesi, a company listed on the Estonian Stock Exchange and incorporated in Estonia, Steve also has responsibility for United Utilities’ non-regulated operations in Europe and the Middle East.
Steve previously held a non-executive board position at Northern Gas Networks and at the charity Young Enterprise. He has a degree in management studies, an MSc in engineering project management from UMIST and is also a graduate of Harvard Business School’s AMP programme.
