Steve is Head of Smart Industry Infrastructure for British Gas. He is responsible for the delivery and optimisation of British Gas’ new smart metering equipment, systems and processes. Steve has over 30 years energy industry experience spanning a number of key senior operational, commercial and customer service roles. He was at the heart of the introduction of electricity supply competition and the development of metering competition and so has been close to some of the biggest industry transformation programmes witnessing at first hand some of the challenges and opportunities that come with these.

Steve has been heavily involved in the full life cycle of smart metering policy development for in excess of ten years and has been an active member of many key smart metering groups including, the DECC Overall Design Advisory Group, Consumer Engagement and Rollout Group, and the ERA Smart Metering Steering Group.
