Chief Executive, Yorkshire Water

Richard was appointed Chief Executive of Kelda Group and Yorkshire Water Services Ltd in April 2010.  Prior to that he was the Chief Operating Officer of Yorkshire Water, previously carrying out a number of operational and change management roles within the business.  He was previously a trustee of Wateraid (the global water and sanitation development charity).  Richard is a trustee of Marie Curie, a member of the Business in the Community Water Taskforce, Chairman of the Business in the Community Advisory Board for Yorkshire and the Humber, and HRH Ambassador for Responsible Business for Yorkshire and the Humber.

Richard’s career has had a heavy emphasis on leading change and improving business performance. More recently he has focused on preparing the Kelda Group and Yorkshire Water for the future and has just completed a three year divestment process of non-core businesses and a reorientation of the Company to more environmentally sustainable solutions. Richard is committed to finding ways to reduce and adapt to the effects of climate change.
