Neil has 25 years of industry experience, starting his career in British Gas and Transco.  This was followed by a 5 year spell in with a leading management consultancy working across a broad base of European utility companies before joining United Utilities in 2005.  Whilst at United Utilities he has enjoyed a variety of senior strategic and programme delivery roles within the company.  Neil was instrumental in UU’s early preparations for market opening and led the work to prepare the wholesale business for competition, developing and delivering the Wholesale Market Services capability which is responsible for managing the services delivered to our retail customers.   As well as accountability for the wholesale interface with the market, Neil has overall accountability for the UU energy strategy and has redefined the operating model for energy within the business to give greater focus on energy opportunities, including the development of an enviable wind and solar asset base to secure lower cost power and improve security of supply.
