Mike has spent 35 years working in networks, from his first role as an engineer in his native New Zealand to senior leadership positions in Europe where he has managed operations and infrastructure for national fixed and wireless networks. In a former CTO role, Mike led a team which developed Integrated Technology Solutions to the UK Public Sector. He spent five years working to improve technology in the rail industry, leading the team developing high speed network communications upgrades to Network Rail. Before joining DCC in August 2020, Mike was Head of Optical Networks for a company innovating around the future of connectivity – including 5G, broadband and WiFi networks delivering pan European network upgrades to hyper scale operators. Mike refers to himself and the “Connectivity Evangelist” believing that secure connectivity has a key role in “Enabling Innovation” and was attracted to the DCC to facilitate the creation of a “Digital Spine” for the energy Industry.
