Martin Blaiklock has over 35 years’ experience of structuring and developing financial packages for publicly and privately-owned, infrastructure, energy and utility projects, both in the UK and worldwide.
Qualifying as a chemist at university, he has worked for extended periods in:
(a) an investment bank [Kleinwort Benson Ltd];
(b) a commercial bank [HSBC]; and
(c) a development bank [EBRD, as Director of Power & Energy Utilities].
Since 1995, he has operated as an independent consultant in this field.
Over the last 8 years he has undertaken more than 120 training seminars on financing projects for governments and banks in over 40 countries, including the World Bank, EBRD, and the African Development Bank.
In Aug 2017, Globe Law & Business published his book: “Infrastructure Finance: an Inside View”.
In recent years he has focused on assessing the performance of the privatized UK public service sector, with particular reference to the sustainability of the regulatory regimes and the capacity of incumbent utilities to support major new capital investment.
