Dr. Irene Di Martino is the Co-founder and CEO of Amp X – a digital energy technology platform that provides a holistic, end-to-end solution for the ongoing energy transition and beyond. With a range of innovative technology and product offerings enabling grid edge to become the locus of provision of network visibility, stability and flexibility for the whole energy system, Amp X develops ground-breaking products enabling improved energy efficiency, cost reduction and paving the way towards a fully transactive and future-proof grid.

Irene has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector, with a robust engineering background and an industry-sponsored PhD in Metallurgy. She has spent most of her career as a global Key Expert at Engie, leading strategic programmes for the operational and commercial performance optimisation of assets within the Engie global thermal generation portfolio and delivering multi-million dollar savings. She then went on to lead an international programme on energy blockchain at the World Energy Council, before co-founding Amp X in 2019, becoming its CEO and positioning the company as a global leader of the energy transition.

In March 2023, Irene was named ‘Net Zero Pioneer of the Year’ at the Regen Green Energy Awards.
