Smarts Projects Manager, Octopus Electric Vehicles

Charlie works on innovation in electric vehicle charging at Octopus Electric Vehicles. He has worked to make smart charging and vehicle-to-grid simple and attractive – ready for mass-adoption by drivers. Charlie led the bid for the Powerloop project – a domestic vehicle-to-grid demonstration project – which launched at the beginning of 2018 with £3m in funding from BEIS and OLEV via Innovate UK. He has also brought new charging solutions to market for drivers through partnerships with innovators such as MyEnergi, Ohme and Wallbox.

Charlie began his career as an engineer at CERN, Geneva and then studied at Imperial Business School before moving to Octopus.

In 2018, he was named the Young Renewable Energy Professional of the Year and the Young Energy Professional of the Year by the REA and the Energy Institute.
