Catherine Wright

Director, Digital and Skills, Environment Agency

I lead the Environment Agency’s work on digital, data and information; making sure we have good quality data and information to support decision-making and share with the public and partners.  I ensure that our staff who work on flood and coastal risk management have the right skills and capabilities to face the challenges of today and the future. I also lead on strengthening our work with local organisations involved in flood risk management.  I am one of the Environment Agency’s National Duty Managers, with responsibility for directing our operational response in major emergencies.  I am a Director of the Association of Drainage Authorities.

I have worked for the Environment Agency for over 20 years and have a wide range of experience in water quality planning, marine and waste regulation. I have held senior management roles in evidence, monitoring and better regulation.
