Alan became the Managing Director then the Chief Executive Officer of Guernsey Electricity, having joined from Manx Gas in the Isle of Man, where he was the Managing Director. Alan commenced his career with P&O Cruises as an Engineering Officer followed by nineteen years in the oil and gas industry working for Mobil Oil/BP Oil and the International Energy Group in various engineering, management and executive positions. He has a degree in Electro Mechanical Power Engineering and an MBA in Executive Leadership. Alan is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the Institute of Engineering Technology.
