Aimee is the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Manager at Thames Water. Over the last three years Aimee and her team have strived to remove the stigma around mental health at work. They have launched a Time to Talk mental health strategy which has driven a culture of demand for mental health training, open engagement forums and mental health champions. Over a period of 12 months Thames Water have recorded a 46% reduction in work-related mental health absence cases. Thames Water won the reba employee wellbeing award in early 2018 for their work in this field.
Aimee gained a Nursing degree from The University of Birmingham in 2004 and went on to work in Accident & Emergency at St Mary’s hospital in Paddington for three years – she worked as a staff nurse and sister during this time. Aimee then moved into the field of Occupational Health when she joined the Ministry of Defence as an Occupational Health screening nurse. In 2009 Aimee gained her Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) qualification in Occupational Health and became an Occupational Health Advisor at the MOD. In 2010 Aimee gained a Masters with Distinction with her work on returning to work after Breast Cancer from Brunel University. Aimee joined Thames water in 2015 as an Occupational Health Advisor managing the clean water side of the business, in 2016 Aimee took on the role of Occupational Health & Wellbeing Manager. She manages a team of four Occupational Health Advisors supporting the business with health surveillance, case management and wellbeing initiatives.
Aimee is originally from Northumberland but now lives in West London with her husband and 5 year old daughter. She has a keen interest in physical fitness and nutrition.
